Triangle Impact Day
Every year Triangle Impact celebrates the contributions to the community made by its volunteers by hosting a Triangle wide Day of Service. Volunteers can choose to contribute individually or with a team of family, friends or co-workers at one of several service projects throughout the Triangle area. They can choose a project that meets their interests, from beautifying our local parks to painting and renovating housing for those in need, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to make an impact!
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
This Triangle Impact event occurs annually each January and honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by involving citizens from every walk of life in a meaningful civic volunteer experience on the occasion of the national holiday marking his birthday. In 2007, nearly 300 Triangle Impact community and corporate volunteers joined forces with Triangle United Way, city agencies, and a host of nonprofit partners to perform an “Extreme Makeover” of Southgate Park in a Southeast Raleigh neighborhood. MLK Day of Service is an annual event that benefits a different neighborhood in our community each year. Triangle Impact is always interested in learning of possible service projects for this event.
Service Juris
Triangle Impact engages the legal community in a daylong service project that benefits the greater community. Attorneys, clerks, paralegals, secretaries, law students, and judges join forces to meet a civic need by volunteering their time in a hands-on project. Similar Service Juris models of community service have been successful in major markets around the nation, including Atlanta and Miami. Schools and parks have been renovated, houses have been remodeled and lives have been changed for the better. Service Juris takes place each July to capitalize on the availability of summer interns in many of the areas largest law firms.
